We Built This Business to Do One Thing Well

Retail construction is a specialist discipline. It demands more than the ability to build; it requires an understanding of how retail spaces need to perform, how brands operate, how opening dates are tied to real commercial consequences, and how to work in live environments without disrupting the businesses already trading inside them.

RCC was founded because Aman and Flavius had spent years working in commercial construction and kept seeing the same problem. Clients were getting let down, not by contractors who didn't care, but by contractors who didn't truly understand retail. General builders taking on retail projects. Fit-out firms without the principal contractor experience to manage complex builds. Fragmented teams where no single person was accountable from start to finish.

They set up RCC to do it differently.

The Partners

Aman Bansal

Aman has spent 11 years in commercial construction, with a career built on projects that require both technical precision and tight programme management. His background spans ground-up commercial builds, structural refurbishments, and retail developments across regions and sectors.

What sets Aman's approach apart is an understanding that construction is only part of what a retail client is managing. Behind every project is a lease obligation, a marketing commitment, a staff plan, and a revenue forecast. He runs every project with that commercial reality in mind — not just the build programme.

He manages project delivery, site operations, and client relationships across RCC's portfolio and is directly involved in every project the business takes on.

Flavius

Flavius brings 15 years of commercial construction experience, with a particular depth in retail fit-out, MEP coordination, structural works, shopfitting, and multi-site delivery. His career has included major LIDL projects, the brands he has worked with, and the sectors he has covered.

His strengths lie in technical delivery, pre-construction planning, supply chain management, and quality control. Where Aman drives the commercial and client side, Flavius ensures the work itself meets the standard the business is built on.

Together, their backgrounds cover the full scope of retail construction, from the first site assessment through to snagging, certification, and handover.

Why We Do Everything In-House

Most construction companies subcontract the majority of their work. They win a project, then spend the first two weeks finding the people to deliver it. The client ends up with a contractor they chose and a site run by people they've never met.

RCC operates differently. Every trade on your project is our own team. We don't outsource the work and manage the paperwork — we do the work.

This matters for several reasons.

Quality doesn't get diluted. When the people on site are our own, we set the standard, and we enforce it directly. There's no room for a subcontractor to cut corners because RCC's name isn't on their paycheck.

Communication is faster. Problems on site get solved on site. We're not waiting for a subcontractor to respond to a call or renegotiate a scope mid-project. The decision-makers and the people doing the work are the same team.

Accountability is real. When something needs fixing, we fix it. There's no third party to point at, no gap between what we promised and what someone else delivered. What RCC commits to, RCC delivers.

You get a consistent team. The people who start your project are the people who finish it. You'll know the site manager by name. You'll have their direct number. And they'll know your project inside out, because they haven't been handed it halfway through.

This model costs more to run than a subcontracted approach. We accept that. It's also why our clients come back.

How We Work

RCC operates as the principal contractor on every project we take on. That's not a commercial decision, it's a position we take because it's the only model that gives clients genuine accountability.

As the principal contractor, we carry full CDM responsibility. We manage every aspect of the build. We coordinate all trades, manage the programme, handle all regulatory compliance, and provide a single point of contact from start to handover. Nothing falls between the gaps because there are no gaps to fall into.

We're not the right contractor for every project. We work best with clients who value quality and transparency, who want a team they can trust rather than a quote they can't interrogate, and who understand that the cheapest tender is rarely the cheapest project by the time it's finished.

If that's how you think about construction, we'll work well together.
